Four-day grand opening for Texas Live begins today
Texas Live, the $250 million entertainment district backed by the Texas Rangers, The Cordish Companies and the City of Arlington, will hold its grand opening celebration today through Sunday in the Arlington Entertainment District.
The 200,000 square foot center will include dining, entertainment and, next year, the first Live! by Loews hotel. The center also will be home to a 5,000-capacity outdoor event pavilion, Arlington Backyard.
The 14-story, 302-room Live by Loews - Arlington, TX hotel will include a 35,000 square foot Grand Event Center.
National recording artist and Dallas-Fort Worth native, Toadies, is set to perform on the Arlington Backyard stage August 9.
The weekend also will include a concert featuring national recording artist Bleachers and Joywave at Arlington Backyard. (Concert-goers must be 21 or over.)

The site will include a restaurant developed by TV personality Guy Fieri; Lockhart Smokehouse; Arlington Backyard — a space large enough to accommodate 5,000 people with views of the Rangers' field.
PBR Cowboy Bar will accommodate 1,500 people for concerts and live events with two mechanical bulls and a large patio space; Live Arena, a 35,000-square-foot, two-level concert and festival space; and a gourmet burger restaurant owned by Dallas Cowboys icon Troy Aikman.
The Arlington district will compete with a new entertainment district a few miles away in Irving. The Toyota Music Factory also includes a pavilion, several live music stages and a dozen restaurants.
